With the recent developments regarding COVID-19,  we are experiencing heavier than normal call volume.

  • We strongly encourage you to email the Court if you have any questions or concerns. We will answer your email on a first come-first served basis and as soon as possible.

Reminders:

  • Justice Court Precinct One has implemented MANDATORY E-Filing of ALL cases. Paper case filings will no longer be accepted.
  • All communications from litigants to the Court and the Court to litigants will be conducted electronically using E-File Texas (preferred), email or fax. Be aware; that all notices, copies, judgments, and other documents sent by the Court to litigants will come from the JP1court@tarrantcountytx.gov Email address.

During any crisis, including the COVID-19 pandemic, safety comes first. Recognizing the need to ensure the health and safety of litigants, attorneys, visitors, court staff, judges, and other individuals, the below court procedure changes have been made;

Before being allowed access to the courtroom as well as the Court's office area, visitors will be asked the following questions:

  • Are you experiencing any of the following COVID-19 symptoms: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100 degrees Fahrenheit?
  • Is a member of your household experiencing any of these symptoms?
  • Have you or any household member tested for COVID- 19?
  • Have you been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19?
    • Close Contact is defined as someone who was within six feet of someone with the virus or an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes (or more) over 24 hours, starting from two days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, two days before test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
  • Have you or a household member been directed to quarantine by a healthcare provider or government agency?
  • Have you, or a member of your household, recently traveled internationally?

If you answer YES to any of the above questions, please DO NOT come in person. Contact the Court at 817-884-1395 or JP1court@tarrantcountytx.gov.

If you answer NO, you must follow the social distancing and health guidelines below.

  • Respect Social Distancing.
  • Hand sanitizing – hand sanitizer will be provided for visitors to sanitize their hands before entering the courtroom and the Court's office area.
