Tax Rate Remains Unchanged for FY 2020 Budget
Tarrant County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Monday to discuss the proposed budget for the 2020 fiscal year.
Under the proposed budget, the tax rate would remain unchanged from last year. The proposed tax rate is 6.9% above the effective tax rate but 0.26% below the rollback tax rate.
The average taxable value of a single family residence in Tarrant County increased by 9.14% from $200,524 to $218,850.
The General Fund budget currently stands at $604,768,342, which includes $5 million in contingency funds in case there are changes in revenue estimates. The entire proposed budget can be viewed on the FY 2020 Budget Hearings.
The Commissioners Court is scheduled to adopt the budget and set the tax rate on Sept. 10.
