Whites Chapel Marker

Summary:  This collection contains a manuscript, Memorable Grapevine Area Pioneers, by the donor, which focuses on the Austin family history in Texas, particularly the Grapevine/White's Chapel area of northern Tarrant County.  The patriarch of this Texas-based family was Stephen Blevins Austin, who was donor's great-great-grandfather; his son, Michael Lee Morison Austin, was the father of her grandfather Charles Albert Austin, who, with wife Virginia (Jennie) Lou Wood, raised donor from early childhood. This family was one of the earliest settlers of the Grapevine/White's Chapel area of northern Tarrant County. The land upon which the White's Chapel Methodist Church sits was donated by Stephen Blevins Austin.  Image shown is the White's Chapel Texas Historical Marker on the site of his donated land.
