Tarrant County Building Line Adjustment Board

Description

The Board is charged with making decisions regarding requests for variances. However the Commissioners Court serves as an appellate tribunal with authority to overturn decisions of the Board. A property owner unsatisfied with the final order of the Board or Commissioners Court may also appeal to the District Court or to another court with proper jurisdiction.

Committee Details

Five Appointees – Two appointees to serve one-year terms and three appointees to serve two-year terms. The Board is comprised of members appointed by Commissioners Court. Each member must be a "freeholder of the County", which simply is someone who owns land in Tarrant County. The entire Court must take action to formally appoint the Board members.
