Typing Test Procedures

Some clerical jobs require a typing test. Here’s how it works:

  • Apply First: Submit your application before the posting closes.

  • Invitation: If the hiring department wants to move you forward, HR will contact you to schedule a test.

  • Testing: You may take up to four tests per invitation. Complete them within five business days.

  • Valid Scores: Scores are valid for two years. Employee scores never expire.

  • Skip the Test: If you already have a valid score, you do not need to retake the test.

Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) Applicants: Contact Patrice Smith at plsmith2@tarrantcountytx.gov for testing details.
