EVICTION RULES AND PROCEDURES ARE CHANGING EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026
Please be advised new laws and procedures will take effect January 1, 2026 for Eviction cases. It is recommended and encouraged all parties involved in rental properties review the updated rules and regulations.
JP6 updated Military Affidavit and Certificate of Last Known Address

As approved by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, the Tarrant County Sheriff and Constable fees will increase effective January 1, 2026.
- New fee for service on civil and eviction citations per defendant will increase to $90.
- New fee for service on all writs will increase to $180.
For additional information regarding Tarrant County service fees, please contact the appropriate Tarrant County Constable office.

Youth Diversion Program
Juveniles who have been charged with a non-traffic offense on or after January 1, 2025 may qualify to take part in a youth diversion program. This program gives an opportunity for juvenile offenders to resolve a citation without being charged in court. Chapter 45 Subchapter E in Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
If your child has been charged with a non-traffic offense, you may call the court to schedule an appearance to discuss diversion eligibilities and options with the judge.
