Tarrant County Civil Service Commission

Description

In accordance with Chapter 158 of the Local Government Code, the purpose of the Tarrant County Civil Service Commission is to adopt, publish, and enforce rules regarding: Selection and classification; Competitive examination; Promotions, seniority, and tenure; Layoffs and dismissals; Disciplinary actions; Grievance procedures; Rights during an internal investigation; and other employment matters.

Committee Detail

The term of office is two (2) years unless a vacancy is filled by appointment of the Commissioners Court, Sheriff, or District Attorney for the unexpired term of a member whose position has been vacated.

Meeting Time and Location

The Tarrant County Civil Service Commission meets on the second Monday of each month at 10 a.m., unless otherwise noted. The agendas are posted on this website. The meetings are held in the Commissioners Courtroom located on the 5th floor of the Administration Building, unless otherwise noted. Special meetings may be called by the Commission.
