| How long will jury duty last? | It is impossible for us to tell you how long your jury duty will last. We would encourage you to allow at least two days for selection. Once you're assigned to a court, the judge will inform you of the type of trial and its expected duration. |

| If I make a request using eResponse, the online system, when can I expect an answer? | If you make an online request or send an email after 5 p.m. or on the weekends, we will do our best to have it reviewed the next business day. Tarrant County Jury Services is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and observes all County holidays. |
| What do I do if I do not have transportation for jury duty? | Unfortunately, that type of hardship will need to be addressed once you are assigned to a court. We are able to reschedule your service to a later date in order to give you more time to make arrangements. Please refer to the summons for information regarding Fort Worth's transportation services, Trinity Metro, as well as the Trinity Railway Express. You can use your jury summons as the free pass. |
| What if I receive a summons for someone that is deceased? |
Do not use the online system. Please write "return to sender - deceased" on the outside of the summons and drop it back in the mail. You do not have to put postage on the summons to return it. Returning it to sender tells the postal service you are not accepting that document for the person listed on it. Once we receive that document back, we will update our juror record. Then, the information will be forwarded to the Elections Department in order for them to make sure the voter registration has been cancelled. |
| What if I receive a summons at my home for a former tenant? | Do not use the online system. Please write "return to sender - no longer at this address" on the outside of the summons and drop it back in the mail. You do not have to put postage on the summons to return it. Returning it to sender tells the postal service you are not accepting that document for the person listed on it. Once we receive that document back, we will update the juror record as undelivered. |
| What is the dress code? | Business casual is the dress code for the courts. Please do not wear shorts. Also, due to the crowds, some of the rooms may be cold so you might want to bring a sweater or a jacket. |
| What is the juror pay? | Effective September 1, 2023, the juror pay is $20 for the first day and $58 for every day thereafter. The County is reimbursed $14 for the first day and $52 for every day thereafter by the State of Texas. Tarrant County Commissioners voted to pay jurors $6 above whatever the minimum reimbursement rate set by the state is each quarter |
| What time will jury duty be over? | Tarrant County has 52 courts. The judge of each court sets their own work hours. Most courts work normal business hours between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
