Potential Measles Exposure in Arlington, TX

April 30, 2025 – (Tarrant County) Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has been notified by Denton County Public Health that an individual has tested positive for measles and was infectious while visiting two Arlington, TX venues on April 19, 2025. The individual is not a Tarrant County resident.

Tarrant County Exposure Locations & Dates: 

  • Texas Live!

1650 E. Randol Mill Rd, Arlington TX. 76011 

Date: Saturday April 19, 2025, from 2pm-5pm

  • Globe Life Field (Rangers Game) 

734 Stadium Dr, Arlington TX. 76011 

Date: Saturday April 19, 2025, from 3pm through the evening

 

Individuals at either of these locations on April 19 who are not vaccinated against measles or are unsure of their immunity may be at risk of contracting measles. 

Measles is a very contagious disease passed from a person to others via the air or contaminated surfaces and can lead to serious health complications. Measles can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infected person has left the area. 

What You Should Do: 

  • For individuals who were at the venues at the time of exposure and are:
    • Unvaccinated
    • Unvaccinated and pregnant  
    • Immunocompromised (receiving treatment that would result in immune system suppression, or have an immune system disease)

You are at a higher risk of contracting measles. TPCH recommends you contact your healthcare provider immediately to discuss the possible exposure.

 

  • Anyone who was at the venues on April 19 and is at increased risk of contracting measles should monitor for symptoms for 21 days from the date of exposure through May 10, 2025. Those symptoms include:  
    • Fever ≥101°F (38.3°C) AND 
    • Cough, runny nose, or conjunctivitis (red eyes) 
    • FOLLOWED BY - Red, blotchy rash that begins at the hairline/scalp and behind the ears, then progresses down the body. 

If you develop symptoms: 

  • Stay home and away from others.
  • Contact your healthcare provider for guidance.
  • Call before visiting a clinic or hospital to prevent possible exposure to others.

 

Measles is highly contagious but preventable through vaccination. TCPH recommends ensuring your Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccinations are up to date. 

Tarrant County Public Health is working closely with Denton County Public Health, the City of Arlington, Texas Live!, Texas Rangers Organization, and other partners to monitor this situation.
