Question 9: Can I register a vehicle that is not titled in my name?
Can I register a vehicle that is not titled in my name?
You may only register a vehicle on behalf of the titled owner with a Permission Letter and acceptable form(s) of ID for you and the owner. You are not eligible to register online on behalf of the titled owner.
If you are not the titled owner but you have purchased the vehicle, were awarded the vehicle in a divorce decree, or the owner is deceased, you must transfer the title to the vehicle before purchasing registration.
