Tarrant County Gets Financial Support for Rehabilitating Veterans
On Aug. 20, the Texas Veterans Commission will deliver a $300,000 check to Judge Brent Carr and Judge Chuck Vanover for the Veterans Court Diversion Program.
The goal is to rehabilitate veterans, diverting them out of the traditional criminal justice system and allowing them to become law-abiding citizens once again.
Participants receive an individual treatment plan with supervision for each case.
The program can run anywhere from 6 to 24 months. Once veterans successfully complete the program, their cases are expunged.
The event will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday on the seventh floor at Felony Trial Room IA inside the Tim Curry Justice Center at 401 W. Belknap St.
