Tarrant County Receives Prestigious Budget Award

The Tarrant County Budget and Risk Management Department has been honored with the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, a recognition of its commitment to excellence in governmental budgeting.

This award highlights the County’s dedication to transparency, financial planning, and effective communication. To qualify, budget documents must meet nationally recognized guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:

  • Policy Document 
  • Financial Plan 
  • Operations Guide 
  • Communications Device

With over 1,700 participants in GFOA’s Budget Awards Program, recipients set a high standard for government finance, serving as examples for other entities across North America.
