June 11, 2026 – (Tarrant County) – As Tarrant County welcome fans from around the world for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has launched a new online hub providing essential health and safety information for residents and visitors.
TCPH encourages the public to visit www.tarrantcountytx.gov/summer-safety for guidance and tools to enjoy safe and memorable World Cup events, whether attending matches, visiting fan experiences, or enjoying outdoor activities across the county.
“We are thrilled to welcome the world as Tarrant County hosts nine World Cup matches,” said Dr. Brian Byrd, Tarrant County Public Health Director. “Our priority is ensuring that everyone in our community, whether residents or visitors, enjoy the summer safely. This resource provides accessible guidance to navigate the Texas summer and Stay Healthy Every Match.”
Designed for residents, tourists, and international guests, the website features information on:
- Accessing care — clear guidance on where to go for medical attention so visitors can receive the right level of care quickly.
- Heat safety and hydration — recommendations for staying cool, drinking water regularly, taking breaks from the sun, wearing sunscreen, and recognizing key signs of heat‑related illness.
- Mosquito bite prevention — tips on using EPA‑approved repellents and protective clothing to reduce the risk of mosquito‑borne illnesses such as West Nile virus.
- General health and safety — simple, effective habits to support wellness during large events.
- Local official resources — links to the City of Arlington, City of Fort Worth, Visit Fort Worth, the FIFA app, and additional tools to help visitors stay informed and connected.
The webpage also includes a multilingual Public Health Toolkit created in partnership with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the public health authorities of Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, and Collin counties. The toolkit offers downloadable flyers designed for local businesses, hotels, and organizations hosting summer events to share prevention messaging and tips. That kit includes materials available in English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and Portuguese.
TCPH will also use this webpage as a central source for sharing any public health updates or disease monitoring information related to World Cup activity, should the need arise.
