WIC Community Health Workers

 

Mission-

To improve women's health and pregnancy outcomes by educating the community on important health issues related to women and families.

The Tarrant County WIC Program has four Community Health Workers who educate and offer referrals to the public in hopes of improving women's health.

Tarrant County WIC Community Health Workers offer presentations on topics that help mothers and families.

 

Topics Include:

  • Anger and stress management and domestic violence
  • Environmental risk factors
  • Important health issues, including obesity and eating disorders, maternal depression
  • Chronic health problems
  • Nutrition
  • Physical health
  • Unhealthy behaviors and their consequences
  • Women’s Health Program
  • Women’s health including breast health, reproductive health, and baby spacing
  • Importance of fathers
