BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Floyd Clark was born in Johnson County in 1927 and died in Tarrant County in 2019. He worked as a teacher, an accountant, then a peace officer in the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. He was with the Sheriff's Department from 1985 until his retirement in 1995. Clark had a strong interest in writing as a college student, and after retiring, he published a poem, wrote a novel based on his college thesis, and wrote his autobiography.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The Floyd Clark Collection consists of 27 scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, letters, and other items pertaining to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. The scrapbooks were created by Floyd Clark and cover the department's history from 1984 to 2010. Along with the scrapbooks, Clark donated the books he wrote and a few small personal items.
