Summary: Thomas James Cogdell taught Chemistry at The University of Texas at Arlington from 1966 to 1999. He was born in Quanah, Texas, and attended public schools in Electra, Texas. His research at The University of Texas at Arlington was supported by the Robert A. Welch Foundation from 1969 to 1972. His teaching included general chemistry, organic chemistry, chemistry for nursing majors, some graduate level organic courses and laboratory sections. Since retirement he has participated in activities of the Arlington Historical Society, the Texas State Historical Association, the Texas Map Society, the Friends of the UTA Library and the Arlington Genealogical Society.
