C. M. (Mike) Douglas Collection

Summary: Donor is great, great nephew of Fort Worth pioneer businessman, Charles Swasey. Swasey came to Fort Worth in 1873. Within a few years, he partnered with Martin Casey to form Casey-Swasey Company, a liquor and cigar wholesale business. Over the years he accumulated much downtown Fort Worth property and supported many investments in the town. When he died in 1938, his address was 12 Chase Court. He raised a niece, Helen Swasey, who married John Douglas. One of her two sons, Charles Douglas, is the father of the donor.
