Summary: Anna Melissa (Mrs. William Knox) Gordon Jr. was the daughter-in-law of William Knox Gordon, who was at one time a superintendant of Texas and Pacific Coal Company, who had ordered the exploration that led to the McCleskey oil strike. Mrs. Gordon Jr. also donated money for The Horse Fountain to be built in honor of the sesquicentennial project for Tarrant County.
