Historical Note

The Monticello Garden Club was organized in 1940 by members of the Monticello neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas. The club membership was limited to women in the neighborhood, and the objectives of the club were to promote interest in community affairs and upkeep of gardens and homes. Monthly meetings included talks from local experts on horticulture and other civic themed outings.

Venice P. Lambert was a member of the Monticello Garden Club, and served as president for the 1982-1983 year, as well as treasurer for many years after.
