Historical Note

Karen Lang-Ferrell donated several issues of the student newspapers for W. C. Stripling Junior High School and Arlington Heights High School, titled the Hornet Herald and Jacket Journal respectively.

W. C. Stripling Junior High School was built in 1927 as a public high school in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Fort Worth. In 1937, it was converted to a junior high school when Arlington Heights High School opened. The school is now known as Stripling Middle School.

Arlington Heights High School was constructed as a WPA project and opened in 1937.
