R. L. "Jerry" Mebus Collection
Biographical Note
Robert Lee "Jerry" Mebus Jr. moved to Arlington, Texas in 1945, where he co-owned and operated an auto dealership, and became active in the community and local politics. He was a charter member of the Arlington Optimists Club, president of the Rotary Club of Arlington, served three terms on the Arlington City Council (1958-1964) and as Tarrant County Commissioner for Precinct 2 (1971-1983).
Scope and Contents
The R. L. "Jerry" Mebus Collection was donated by his sons, Don and Robert, and consists of photographs, a resolution and a guest register. These materials date from 1971 to 2001.
