HISTORICAL NOTE
Mount Gilead Baptist Church was established in 1875 by Pastor C. A. Augustus and is the oldest African American Baptist church in Fort Worth. The congregation moved to their present location at 600 Grove St. in 1913.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
A member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church loaned several oversize scrapbooks, posters, clippings, and documents to the archives for digitization. Items were scanned and returned, so only digital files of these materials are held by the Archives.
