Jim Noah Collection

The collection of James "Jim" Durwood Noah contains materials related to the Fort Worth Fire Department, where Noah began working in 1952.


The Jim Noah Collection contains a variety of items. Among the business records are financial documents, departmental communications, instructions for operating procedures and records of fires. There are also published books on firefighting and Fort Worth, Texas. The collection has numerous professional and amateur photographs of firefighters, fires and community and departmental events. Noah also drew several cartoons related to the department and fighting fires. Although many of these items date between 1960 and 2000, some records and photographs date back to the department’s origins in 1873.
