HISTORICAL NOTE

Oral Histories of Fort Worth, Incorporated was a non-profit corporation established by the Junior League of Fort Worth in 1976, with Caroline Dulle serving as president. According to their Articles of Incorporation, the objective of their project was to compile a history of Fort Worth and Tarrant County by conducting oral history interviews and to make the interviews available to the public. The project was funded by a small grant. For three years, a group of volunteers interviewed about 75 local residents who had lived in Tarrant County their whole lives. The interviews were recorded on audio tapes and transcribed. The corporation existed long enough to complete this project and is no longer active.

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

Oral Histories of Fort Worth, Inc. donated their administrative records, consent forms, cassette tapes, and transcripts from the interviews conducted between 1976 and 1979. There were additional interviews conducted by the Junior League of Fort Worth prior to the funded project and these interviews were donated as well.
