Books

  • Encyclopedia Britannica Set Ninth Edition - known as the scholar's edition - published in 1889. The set includes 24 volumes and an index (Volume XXV). Encyclopedia Britannica is the oldest English-language general encyclopedia having been first published in 1768 in Edinburgh, Scotland. This gift gives an excellent portrait of the world at a key time in Tarrant County history - the late 19th century. There is an extensive entry on Texas, offering an international view of local history and events.
