Merchants Fast Motor Lines trucks, circa 1920

Merchants Fast Motor Lines trucks, circa 1920

Summary: Donor gave two panoramic photographs of Merchants Fast Motor Lines trucks. The Abilene-based company was in business for roughly 75 years before closing its doors in 1997. In one photograph, the drivers are standing by their trucks, and the donor believes the second man from the left is his father, George Benjamin Luther Stowe (1889-1958), who moved to Weatherford, Texas, with his family before 1900, and then to Odell, Texas.

  • Two panoramic photographs, Merchants Fast Motor Lines trucks at unknown location in Texas, (portion of one panoramic shown)
    • Front view men standing next to trucks, circa 1920s
    • Side view of trucks lined up front-to-back, circa 1920s
