The Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office conducts adoption and foster home fire safety inspections in the unincorporated county, and in incorporated cities that do not have a certified fire inspector.

To schedule an inspection, follow the three steps listed below.

  1. Before requesting a fire inspection, please review the Fire Safety Evaluation Checklist from the State Fire Marshal's Office.
  2. Using the checklist, conduct your own inspection. Any items that you checked "No" will need to be corrected or resolved prior to the Fire Marshal's inspection. If you have any questions, please contact the Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office at 817-838-4660. Prior to requesting an inspection, please note that all gas appliances must have a safety-only inspection by a qualified technician within the previous year. Additionally, the fire extinguisher placed in the kitchen area must be inspected by a licensed fire extinguisher company and have a valid tag.
  3. Once you believe you are ready, you may request an inspection by completing the Request for Inspection form and return it to the Tarrant County Fire Marshal’s Office with the appropriate inspection fee to 2750 Premier St., Fort Worth, TX 76111.

Once the request is received, an inspection date will be scheduled within five business days of receipt.
