Swimming Pool Program

Swimming pools, spas and Public Interactive Water Features (PIWF) are permitted and inspected for compliance with state regulations. Inspections are performed in 27 cities, Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and in the unincorporated areas. Typically two inspections are performed per pool, spa or PIWF. The results of these inspections are posted on the pool, spa and spray park scores web page.

The current rules, 25 TAC, Chapter 265, Subchapter L, Standards for Swimming Pools and Spas went into effect on September 1, 2004 (except Section 265.190, which has an effective date of January 1, 2005) and Subchapter M Public Interactive Water Features and Fountains went into effect May 20, 2010.
