Enforcement/Modification of Medical Support

Medical support obligations on cases referred to the IV-D Monitoring Program may be enforced through a process similar to enforcement of a child support obligation.

Medical support obligations on cases referred to the IV-D Monitoring Program may be modified  through a process similar to a modification of a child support obligation.

To determine if your case qualifies for medical support enforcement or modification through the IV-D Monitoring Program, please contact Child Support Services at 817-884-1475.

If your case does not qualify for services under the IV-D Monitoring Program, medical support may be enforced in conjunction with a child support enforcement action initiated through Legal Support Services' application process.

The Non-Custodial Parent may be ordered to provide medical support by:

  1. Purchasing health insurance coverage for the child/children
  2. Paying a specific cash dollar amount through the State Disbursement Unit
  3. Making direct payments to the Custodial Parent as reimbursement for the cost of health insurance
  4. Making direct payments to the Custodial Parent for reimbursement of health care expenses
